WHERE I'M AT, WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING, AND WHAT IS GOING TO CHANGE
So it has been a little while, I get that. I know that it can be frustrating to be told to keep checking in, and then nothing changes. For months. I also know how lame an excuse the "It has been just crazy lately" is. So I want you to know that I wish this was an easier thing to keep up with, but the long and short of it is that creating content is hard. And doing it on your own, makes it damn near impossible to put new stuff out with any regularity. I do have quite a few awesome projects in the works, but I seriously don't want to rush anything out. I'm really starting to grow as a filmmaker and I want to cultivate that, not put out lackluster stuff just because I haven't posted in a while. However I will be bringing back Video Game History and also finishing the 4 E's of Social Media Marketing. Those two move fairly quickly.
So what is is new? Some really really really awesome projects are beginning right now, and some old ones are getting a deadline. First and foremost the oldest one in the books, my boxing doc "The Kid in The Cowtown" will be finished and hitting the Montana Documentary Film Festival in February 2017. What this means as far as when you can see it is kind of up in the air. The problem with some of these film festival type things is distribution. They obvously want content that hasn't been shown to everyone, but once that film festival is done with it, I will make a big release. I promise.
Secondly. The Life or Meth Contest is currently underway, the project that we made is currently "in consideration". So much like the "Kid in the Cowtown" I can't release it until they have made their judging decisions.
But there is some stuff that you will be able to see really soon. I have started work on a project with Steven Sanchez, we have put together music for a band we called "Side Project". We have been kicking around the idea of doing a cover, and finally work is mostly done on the track. I don't want to give anything away, but let's just say that the track's title is fitting. Now this would be cool on its own merit, but we had to pay money for the mechanical rights to legally cover the song, so in an effort to make that money back we will be offering an MP3 dowload for 99 cents. I'll let you know when that is up. In order to sweeten the pot, we are also going to be making a music video for the song. And I will admit that it is an ambitious and extremely cheesy video. If things come together right, it could be a helluva lot of fun to watch!
So what is going to change? I was hoping when I first started this thing that I could get other people to join forces with me, and then we could pump out original content from a bunch of different angles. That didn't happen. So the only thing that is going to change is that I am not going to pretend like I can keep a high pace with this site. Make sure to like my facebook page, as I will be posting everything on there as well. So that way you can stay updated when something new happens.
